In combination with the Arthaus Café Menu cover, I also created designs for coasters that will be available in the café. Like the menu, I took elements of Bauhaus design, like primary colours and basic shapes to form the graphics. The graphics were influenced by famous Bauhaus designs, like Peter Keler’s cradle (1922) and Marianne Brandt’s teapot (1924). The colours not only represent Bauhaus, but also of South Australia, to represent the client’s (Art Gallery of South Australia) state colours and location.
