My love affair for book cover design started back about the same time I knew I wanted to become a writer. Throughout the years, I have designed covers on and off for my stories, taking inspiration from personal studies into book design. This particular cover is one I created for a learning activity at uni, using Photoshop and Illustrator together. I took inspiration from the cover of my edition of Richard Matheson’s Nightmare at 20,000 Feet short story collection in creating this. I created the bottom half of this design in Illustrator, while the top half in Photoshop, using my own image and manipulating it using imagery effects.
